SYNOPSIS
Inmitten der pulsierenden Medina Marrakeschs sehnt sich Samir nach Liebe und einer besseren Zukunft. Doch seine Sommerflirts enden immer am Flughafen und er bleibt zurück in einem Land mit begrenzten Möglichkeiten.
Als sich Samir so richtig verliebt, steht er vor der Entscheidung seines Lebens: Soll er auf seine Schwester hören und eine traditionelle Ehe in Marokko eingehen oder der Liebe und dem Traum nach einer besseren Zukunft in Europa folgen?
Samir gehört zu einer jungen Generation Marokkos, die in einem Land mit geschlossenen Grenzen für ihre eigenen Vorstellungen von Liebe und Leben einstehen.

Within the flourishing Medina in Marrakech Samir is looking for love and a brighter future. But all summer flirts end at the airport and he is left alone in a country with limited possibilities.
When Samir falls deeply in love he is faced with the decision of his life: Shall he listen to his sisters and enter into a traditional marriage or follow his love and the dream of a brighter future in Europe?
Samir belongs to a young generation in Morocco who stands up for their own ideas of love and life in a country with closed boarders.

REGIESTATEMENT
Die Eheschliessung mit einer Ausländerin ist gleichbedeutend mit einem Visum für Europa und viele junge Marokkaner sehen darin den Schlüssel zum Glück. Doch solche Beziehungen sind meist mit Vorurteilen und Klischees behaftet. Und genau da wollte ich ansetzen und genauer hinsehen. LOVE WILL COME LATER erzählt aus der marokkanischen Perspektive und macht erlebbar, was es bedeutet, auf die Geliebte warten zu müssen, ohne einfach so selbst über die Grenze hüpfen zu können, oder wie es sich anfühlt, seinen Sohn nach Europa gehen lassen zu müssen. Und welche Zerrissenheit entsteht, wenn der Wunsch, wegzugehen die Trennung von der Familie bedeutet. Mit dem intimen Portrait eines jungen Marokkaners setzt sich mein Film mit der Komplexität von Liebe, Perspektiven und kulturellen Vorstellungen in einer globalisierten Welt auseinander.

Marriage to a foreigner is tantamount to a visa for Europe, and many young Moroccans see it as the key to happiness. But such relationships are usually tainted with prejudices and clichés. And that's where I wanted to start and take a closer look. LOVE WILL COME LATER tells the story from the Moroccan perspective and makes it possible to experience what it means to have to wait for your beloved without being able to simply hop across the border yourself, or how it feels to have to let your son go to Europe. And what turmoil arises when the desire to leave means separation from the family. With the intimate portrait of a young Moroccan, my film deals with the complexity of love, perspectives and cultural ideas in a globalized world.
